NEUROPROSTHESIS

An implantable device can predict the onset of epileptic seizures using adaptive feature extraction filters. Binary decisions (act / don’t act) are then used to deliver therapy and terminate epileptic episodes prior to generalization. Similar methodologies are used to detect dynamic and clinical event onset.

IMAGING

Interventional Cardiology diagnoses and responds to the build up of plaque in coronary arteries. When intravascular ultrasound phase and amplitude are used, real-time feature extraction filters allow for automatic tissue identification. Similar to the neuroprosthesis application, a diagnostic tool can be converted to a therapeutic device by using real-time features to close the loop.

HARDWARE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

BioElectric Solutions, Inc. designs custom circuits for signal processing and control systems of medical instruments. Every design will require some degree of signal routing, signal conditioning, switching, control or some processing that would be too inefficient to implement in software. All hardware is implemented at the board level, except for FPGA’s.

DC TO 80 MHZ

We support small signal instrumentation in low frequency, typically used for electrogram and physiologic data acquisition. We can design RF transceivers for imaging applications extending up to 80 MHz.

EMBEDDED SOFTWARE

Robust state-machine architecture that supports real-time interrogation, real-time monitoring, mode operation, and servicing of real-time control loops.
